La Main des Maitres
Vivien Chauvet "Looky" (21 anos) - ficou encarregue do "concept art of the project, most of the designs (characters, machines, places...), story board, light board... then characters modeling, matt paintings and 2D animation."
Adrien Toupet "Cayus" (22 anos) - tratou do "character rigging, 3D animation, and of course, the 3D VFX (cloth, particles, rigid bodies...)"
Clément Delatre (23 anos) - tratou do "texturing, surfacing, rendering, props, modeling and compositing."

Autonomous Agents Research Award
"The selection committee for the ACM/SIGART Autonomous Agents Research Award is pleased to announce that Prof. Manuela M. Veloso of Carnegie Mellon University is the recipient of the 2009 award. Prof. Veloso has made significant and sustained contributions to Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems in the areas of planning and control learning in multi-agent systems. Prof. Veloso's research is particularly noteworthy for its focus on the effective construction of teams of robot agents where cognition, perception, and action are seamlessly integrated to address planning, execution, and learning tasks. She has made significant contributions to agents in uncertain and dynamic environments, including distributed robot localization and world modeling, strategy selection in multiagent systems in the presence of adversaries, planning by analogical reuse, and more recently, robot learning from demonstration. Her research contributions have also been realized concretely in the form of teams of robot soccer playing agents that have won several international championships at the annual RoboCup robot soccer competitions. Her impact and visibility has been consistently high over the past two decades for her technical contributions, for her impressive robot teams, and for her leadership within the research community."A professora portuguesa recebeu o grau de doutoramento, pela Universidade de Carnegie Mellon, em 1992.

movimento do capuchinho

Vejam então o filme de Bruce Branit, que retrata: "A strange man builds a world using holographic tools for the woman he loves."

BEST PICTURE
- The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
- Frost/Nixon
- Milk
- The Reader
- Slumdog Millionaire

o tempo e a falta dele

Linger in Shadows is not a game, but rather an experiment into the realm of interactive digital art. Created by a collective of talented artists based in Poland known as Plastic, Linger in Shadows delivers cutting-edge graphics technology and is the first demoscene project to ever hit a home console. Bringing this underground digital art culture exclusively to the PlayStation®Network, it delivers a truly unique journey that will challenge and entertain you, and change the way you think about games and art forever.

E para contrabalançar fica aqui a visão oposta "The Communist Manifesto illustrated by Cartoons".
Como alguém diz num comment no YouTube: "If the history of the past two centuries has taught us anything, it is that neither socialism nor capitalism work if taken to extremes."

Computers should not be black boxes but rather understood as engines for creating powerful and persuasive models of the world around us. The world around us (and inside us) is something we in the humanities have been interested in for a very long time. I believe that, increasingly, an appreciation of how complex ideas can be imagined and expressed as a set of formal procedures — rules, models, algorithms — in the virtual space of a computer will be an essential element of a humanities education. Our students will need to become more at ease reading (and writing) back and forth across the boundaries between natural and artificial languages. Such an education is essential if we are to cultivate critically informed citizens — not just because computers offer new worlds to explore, but because they offer endless vistas in which to see our own world reflected.por Matthew Kirschenbaum que é Professor Associado de Inglês do Maryland Institute for Technology in the Humanities na University of Maryland.

1. Wii Play w/ remote - Wii – Nintendo – 5.28 million
2. Mario Kart Wii w/ wheel – Wii – Nintendo – 5.00 million
3. Wii Fit w/ balance board – Wii – Nintendo – 4.53 million
4. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Wii – Nintendo – 4.17 million
5. Grand Theft Auto IV - Xbox 360 – Take-Two – 3.29 million
6. Call of Duty: World at War - Xbox 360 – Activision – 2.75 million
7. Gears of War 2 - Xbox 360 – Microsoft – 2.31 million
8. Grand Theft Auto IV - PS3 – Take-Two – 1.89 million
9. Madden NFL '09 - Xbox 360 – Electronic Arts – 1.87 million
10. Mario Kart - DS – Nintendo – 1.65 million

alongando o storytelling
"As filmed advertising changes into longer forms (brought to you, of course, by the Internet) it will be interesting to see how storytelling will change and who specifically (creatives and directors) will rise to the top. It’s tough to break free of more than fifty years of intuition and the reduction of stories into a mere thirty seconds."

Nunca a Web 2.0 fez tanto sentido.

"There were no differences between congenitally blind, noncongenitally blind, and sighted athletes, either on the level of individual facial actions or in facial emotion configurations. Blind athletes did produce more overall facial activity, but these were isolated to head and eye movements. The blind athletes’ expressions differentiated whether they had won or lost a medal match at 3 different points in time, and there were no cultural differences in expression. These findings provide compelling evidence that the production of spontaneous facial expressions of emotion is not dependent on observational learning."Isto sugere muito claramente que a existência de algo genético está na origem das expressões faciais de emoção.

"The children who are most expressive in class, according to their teachers, are also the most expressive in front of the screens. Others - particularly the hardened gamers - remain utterly expressionless: 'Nothing. Not a glimmer of emotion. If you couldn't see the hands moving, you wouldn't know anything was going on at all".
